She released her debut single, Here in 2015. She was only 19. It received a lot of praise as well from critics and listeners. The song reached the top spot in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among 2015's most memorable Songs. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks which reached the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special as it was inspired by her interview with Rap-Up many listeners related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara is well-known to include messages regarding the importance of mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. The inspiration for her music is her own personal experience as she had to deal with issues of mental health as well as insomnia. In a conversation with Reuters the singer stated that her album is "half chaotic" as well as "half completed". She claims she has grown through therapy and she encourages others to seek help when necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th July 1996. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was only 10-years-old. This ignited her love for music. She started covering her favorite songs when she was 13 to prove to all the world that she had the talent and courage needed to sing. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather got her discovered by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write music for her.
